Fall in love with yourself. I dare you. Look at yourself in the mirror and not at your appearance. Look at yourself, into your eyes and feel what thats like. Its confronting. I'm not going to lie.
We very rarely look into ourselves. We are always looking for flaws when we are staring into the mirror. Not at the things we love about ourselves. So get rid of the exterior and look at your self as your mum looked at you as a baby (full of awe and love). It's intense and probably not for everyone. But I guarantee whether you think this is all BS you will catch yourself doing it next time you are looking in the bathroom mirror.
Yesterday I was in the shower feeling a bit frumpy after a weekend of indulgence and instead of looking at my thighs in a disgusted manner (yes my shower is all mirrored!- confronting I know!) I decided to hug myself. Yep like a weirdo in the shower, I hugged myself. WHY NOT! It actually felt weird but also really nice. Why can't I give myself a hug. Why are we always so mean to ourselves?
Why aren't we taught to love ourselves more?
It should be the first things we are are taught in school. Ways to love ourselves. We are always taught how to share and interact nicely with others. What about interacting with ourselves and bodies in a decent way.
WE talk abut it... "loving your self" but what does it mean?
In the shower that day, I literally was loving myself. It made me smile.
If we can start to interact with ourselves like this - loving others will become a lot easier too.
More happiness in the next post..
